Today, with 50-plus global projects under his belt and experience spanning manufacturing, contracting, design, and operations, Omar sees the industry from every angle, and he's not shy about what he sees.
The conversation covers why new data center equipment is being rushed to market largely untested at scale, why the universal technician is dead, and why the coming wave of retirements couldn't be hitting at a worse time. Omar also makes the case that HVAC isn't a comfort amenity anymore - it's critical infrastructure - and that the power grid is 20 to 30 years behind where it needs to be to support everything being built right now.
His proposed solution? Small modular nuclear reactors. And he's already working on it.
